Time passes so quickly, it’s hard to believe it’s only 4 weeks till Christmas! Where has the time gone? It’s stressful for some to think about big holidays like this and having to buy presents for everyone, but remember it’s a day to celebrate being with family. Don’t stress the small stuff and just enjoy the moment of being with family and eating too much!
As the year ends, it’s usually time for us to reflect on the past year, what we’ve acheived and what we have to look forward to the following year. I, for one, have lots of things I’m grateful for, but something I’m not good at is taking risks and I’m sure for some others in the same position, here are some words of encouragement to kick off a new week.
More often than not, we look at situations with an apprehensive eye, not sure whether or not to take a risk because we see it as a situation out of our control. The most important thing for all of us to remember is that in the end, it’s our confidence in ourselves and skills that shines through. Believe in your strengths and work them to your advantage. Think back on negative experiences you’ve dealt with and overcome, what you’ve learned from those experiences and how it’s shaped who you are today.
Sitting in your comfort zone might work for some, but for those of us who are constantly plagued by thoughts of ‘what if’, let yourself shine through with what you have to offer in a new situation. Get out there and make new friends, introduce yourself to someone you’ve wanted to speak with, apply for a new job if you feel like you’re not making the progress you’d like to see.
If you’re not happy with a situation, take steps to be proactive. If it doesn’t work, keep trying. You’ve got the skills and the knowledge, why not let others recognise and share your experience?
