Summer is approaching!

It’s no secret that when the sun starts shining, the weather gets warmer and the designer sunglasses come out, summer is fast approaching and one of the best things about this season is bringing out the colour in everything! I’ve never been one for bright colours, but I’m feeling more adventurous and sometimes just the little accents added to my outfit, whether it be bags, a cardigan, a shirt or shoes just helps to brighten your mood, even if it’s winter time!

One of my all time favourite bags is my small Dior Panarea in silver. It was a splurge I treated myself to because I’d been lusting after the Panarea for over 2 years and finally found The One Panarea when the silver was introduced for Fall/Winter 2011:

What better way to bring some sparkle and colour into your life during the cold winter months when daylight savings here means it gets pitch dark at 4pm? With summer though, most brands (high street or designer) like to bring out their bright colours to bring on thoughts of summer. We’ve already looked at the Mini coral Balenciaga City, the Valentino Rockstud collection, the Reed Krakoff micro Boxer and the Céline Micro Luggage Tote to the mini coral Coach Tanner crossbody that Emmy Rossum was seen carrying.

The thoughts that have been plaguing my mind the most though was my post about the teal BCBG Emeline clutch in embossed snakeskin leather. I only found out about it too late, turns out they’re all sold out already and I can’t really get it where I am. I’ve never really been a fan of snakeskin or reptiles in general. It was the Dior New Lock pochette in Bois de Rose snakeskin that changed my mind. Now I’m obsessed with finding snakeskin print items and in a bright colour that I could wear often that will help keep summer in mind.

My latest obsession? I’ve not yet found the next It bag that has caught my attention, but my eyes wander no farther than shoes and one of the greatest things I like most about H&M is the quality and design of their products. Some of my friends might disagree with me, but if you pay a close enough eye to the items they have, you’ll sometimes find that odd treasure tucked away that looks nothing like an H&M item. One of these is the dress I got a few years back that looks like it’s more high end than what I actually paid for it. The other thing? They have something that reminds me of the teal BCBG Emeline clutch that I’m drooling after and chomping at the bit for when I can make my next purchase:

These shoes are perfect for a day or night out, with a heel height of 11cm (slightly over 4 inches) and a slight platform, they’re perfect for dressing up an outfit if you’re not expecting to be on your feet for too long, standing or walking. Teal is a great colour for summer, almost turquoise but not so bright. With a neutral coloured outfit, you can have the shoes as a pop of colour or even accent the green in your outfit if you have a floral dress. If you’re not one for bright pieces in your outfit, the same shoes also come in light beige to complement the colours in your dress or top:

I wasn’t much of a fan of animal print apart from white leopard print to begin with, and even then only because it reminded me so much of Tigger, but for something a bit more subtle that you can also wear to work, how about a pair of cutout heels?

A pair of court shoes can be so simple yet so versatile. The best way to jazz up a simple pair of courts is by finding embellished ones, like glitter courts or cut outs. My personal favourite is the cut out court shoes, because while you can change up a simple pair of courts by spray painting it or painting/spraying glitter on top and adding ribbons, the cut out design is part of its originality. Don’t believe me? I couldn’t stop talking about my lovely pair of custom design pink cut out snakeskin embossed leather court shoes from Shoes of Prey back when I was still starting out with my blog!Any shoes you’ve been obsessing about getting for this summer?
